The art and science of bidding to win public contracts for goods and services will be explored at an Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce seminar this week.
Bidding for public contracts is a massive business opportunity, worth over £225 billion each year in the UK and £9 billion in Scotland alone.
Successive governments continue to encourage small and medium sized companies to participate in the market and public contracts continue to represent reliable and consistent business. However, the procurement process can appear arduous and off-putting, deterring many businesses from pursuing the available opportunities.
Key speaker Tim Williams from Millstream Associates, which manages the Public Contracts Scotland website for the Scottish Government as well as a similar portal for the Norwegian Government, will share his knowledge of the process, including the common pitfalls, how to avoid them and how to maximise your chances of success when pitching for public sector business.
The public contracts – bidding to win event, in association with Millstream Associates, will run from 11.45am to 2pm this Friday, 19 April at the Chamber's offices. Visit the events section of the Chamber's www.agcc.co.uk website for further details and booking.
The Chamber holds around 100 events a year in Aberdeen City and Shire, providing insight, market intelligence, learning and networking opportunities to the North-east business community.
